1. General Questions

What makes Compnd different from other ice baths?

Compnd is the world’s first and only real-rock, LED-backlit* ice bath. Unlike imitation cladding or plastic-wrapped tubs, each unit features a genuine natural stone veneer bonded to a fibreglass-reinforced composite shell with up to 10mm of real texture and depth. Beneath the sculptural surface lies 60mm of closed-cell insulation, precision-engineered fittings, and a chiller system designed for efficiency, performance, and longevity.

*On selected colours only

What is the temperature range, and how cold can it go?

All Compnd systems maintain precise temperatures between 3°C and 42°C. Most users prefer 8 - 10°C for recovery, 5 - 8°C for performance, and below 5°C for cold-shock exposure. The system holds the setpoint within ±1 - 2 °C.

How long will it take for my ice bath to be manufactured and shipped?

Each Compnd bath is built to order. Standard lead time is 4 weeks from order confirmation, depending on finish selection and configuration. You’ll receive milestone updates throughout fabrication; from stone cutting and assembly to quality testing and dispatch.

How is my ice bath shipped and delivered?

Units ship via palletised LTL freight to your curb. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window. A responsible person must be present to inspect and sign. Please inspect packaging for visible damage before signing the delivery note; if any issues are noted, record them or refuse delivery and contact us within 24 hours.

Can I cancel or change my order after placing it?

Orders can be modified or cancelled only before fabrication begins. Once we start stone cutting or assembly, the build becomes non-refundable. Minor upgrades (e.g. adding LED illumination or changing colour) may be accommodated early in production if feasible.

What is your returns and refund policy?

Because each Compnd unit is custom-built, change-of-mind returns are not accepted. Returns are only approved if there is a verified manufacturing defect that cannot be rectified. In such cases, we cover return shipping and replacement/refund at our discretion.

What warranty do you offer?

We provide a 3-year structural warranty on the shell and stone cladding, and a 1-year comprehensive warranty on electrical and chiller components. For commercial clients, we offer priority servicing, extended maintenance options, and spare-parts support.
Warranty excludes misuse, incorrect installation, freezing damage, or chemical imbalance.

What happens if my unit arrives damaged?

We go to extensive lengths to make sure this doesn’t happen, but if you notice any visible damage on delivery, note it on the carrier’s paperwork or refuse delivery. Then contact us within 24 hours with photos of the damage. We’ll arrange replacement parts or manage the freight claim on your behalf.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We ship to selected international markets. Depending on destination, there may be freight surcharges, customs duties, and import documentation requirements. Electrical compatibility (voltage and plug type) will also be confirmed before order acceptance.

Can I pay in instalments or finance my purchase?

At the moment we don’t offer this but we are working on this and hope to be able to offer Humm and Zip Pay to our Australian customers very soon!

What support do you offer after purchase?

We provide lifetime customer support via phone, email, and remote diagnostics. For commercial accounts, we also offer on-site servicing, maintenance plans, and replacement parts. Our average response time for support requests is within 1 business day.

2. Home Ice Bath Questions

How is the Compnd Home different from competitors?

The Compnd Home brings our architectural design and real-rock construction to a plug-and-play setup. Each unit features authentic stone cladding, optional LED backlighting*, and a stand-alone chiller positioned beside the bath. The 60 mm insulation ensures quieter operation, less power use, and consistent cold. In a world where all ice baths look the same now, we wanted to offer the market something they haven’t seen before.

*On select colours only

Is the stone cladding real or imitation?

It’s 100 % real stone - never printed laminate or faux resin. Each panel is a slice of natural rock bonded to a fibreglass backing. The result is authentic texture, depth, and mineral glow when illuminated (for select colours).

How easy is installation for the home model?

The Compnd Home is plug-and-plunge ready. Place the tub, connect the chiller hoses, fill with water, and plug in. No plumbing or drainage connection is required. Maintenance is simple: change water periodically, clean surfaces, and follow the included care schedule.

Can I add LED backlighting or customise the look?

Yes! LED illumination is available as an upgrade. It’s fully waterproof and controlled via remote or app, passing light through the translucent mineral structure to create a sculptural glow. At the moment we have 3 colours that can have the LED backlighting, with more to come.

How do I maintain the water in a home bath?

The built in ozone, pump and filter are usually enough to keep the water clean for home users. We recommend changing the water once a month and using an aquarium fish net for anything on the surface of the bath.

What are the electrical requirements for the home version?

The Compnd Home uses a standard 230V / 10A outlet (AU/NZ). No special wiring is required. Ensure the outlet is protected by a GPO safety switch and located within reach of the chiller’s cord.

Is the stone cladding durable?

Yes! The stone veneer is bonded to a flexible fibreglass backing, giving natural beauty with structural strength. It’s resistant to daily use and temperature changes. However, avoid sharp impacts or dropping heavy objects on the stone surface (much like with any other finish).

What does daily maintenance involve?

Keep the lid on when not in use, wipe down the rim and interior weekly, and rinse any debris. Every month, drain, wipe with a mild cleaner, change the filter and refill. Check chiller vents for dust build-up and vacuum lightly if needed.

Are there safety or health warnings I should know about?

Cold immersion triggers rapid cardiovascular responses. Anyone with heart conditions, hypertension, circulatory issues, or who is pregnant should consult a doctor before use. Enter gradually, avoid submerging the head abruptly, and never use under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

3. Commercial Ice Bath Questions

What makes the Compnd Pro+ different from standard ice baths?

The Compnd Pro+ is engineered for continuous, high-volume use in gyms, recovery centres, and wellness facilities. They feature Variable Intensity Technology (VIT) linked to our unique in-bath controller for adjustable jet pressure and count up timer, skimmer filtrationUV + ozone sanitationautomatic fill/drain, and serviceable modular components - all housed within a real-rock, LED-backlit shell.

How does Variable Intensity Technology (VIT) work?

VIT uses digitally controlled pumps to vary jet speed and pressure, allowing users to experience multiple intensity levels - from calm soak to cold-shock turbulence - all in one bath. It automatically adjusts flow based what the user selects from our in-bath controller. After a period of inactivity it reduces back to baseline for optimal filtration and power savings.

How is water quality maintained for multiple users?

The Pro+ integrates a high flow pump, large filter, hair filter, skimmer filtration, ozone, UV, and optional chemical dosing for commercial hygiene compliance. The system continuously filters and sanitises, maintaining water clarity and safety throughout the day.

What is the lead time for the COMPND Pro+

We are in the final stages of beta testing the Compnd Pro+. We expect to have these units ready to purchase by the end of the year.

Can the system connect to our existing plumbing and power?

Yes! Compnd Pro models are plumb-in ready. They feature auto-fill, level sensors, and auto-drain connections for integration with standard water supply and waste. Power is standard 240V single-phase for the bath itself and a second 240v (10a) power source for the chiller. Our engineers can work with your site contractors to specify requirements.

What are the service and warranty options for commercial clients?

All commercial units include our comprehensive 1 year warranty and 3-year structural warranty, plus access to priority servicingremote diagnostics, and on-site support options. Extended maintenance contracts are available for facilities that need guaranteed uptime.

How do I maintain the unit day to day?

Commercial maintenance highly depends on how much use the bath gets. Generally we recommend changing the hair filter every day, washing out the filter every 2-4 weeks depending on use and performing a monthly deep clean/water change as well. For units with our optional chlorine doser initial water quality monitoring will be frequent while your staff and the bath are getting used to your bather frequency, getting less so as the system is dialed in more. We supply maintenance guides for staff training.

What if the chiller or pump fails?

Our components are modular and field-serviceable. We maintain stock of key parts (pumps, compressors, valves) and can dispatch replacements quickly. Remote diagnostics help identify issues to minimise downtime. We offer commercial support 7 days a week so there is never a time when you are left waiting for support.

Can Compnd units be installed outdoors?

Yes! The shell, cladding, and fittings are weather-resistant. It must be in a covered (or mostly covered) location to stop the chiller overworking against the hot sun.

Can I see stone samples or schedule a design consult?

Yes! We provide stone finish samples on request and offer design consultations for architects and facility managers. We can help coordinate placement, lighting, and power integration within your recovery area.

Do you provide training for staff or operational manuals?

Every commercial installation includes a comprehensive user and maintenance manual. Optional on-site training is available for staff on operating procedures, sanitation protocols, and basic troubleshooting.

4. Technical & Safety Questions

What are the power and plumbing requirements overall?

Home: 230 V / 10 A plug-in; optional garden-hose fill/drain.

Commercial Pro +: Dedicated circuits and permanent water in/out connections (if auto drain/fill are to be enabled). We provide full specification sheets pre-delivery so your electrician and plumber can prepare accordingly.

How efficient is the unit?

Thanks to 60 mm insulation, efficient chillers, and intelligent temperature control, energy consumption is significantly lower than uninsulated tubs. Our units are one of the most efficient on the market.

How do I clean the stone and stainless surfaces?

Use a soft cloth and mild neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasives, bleach, or acids. For the stainless fittings, wipe dry after use to prevent mineral spotting and a good stainless cleaner.

Can I use salt, Epsom salts, or ice in the bath?

At the moment we do not recommend epsom salts in the bath. Because cold exposure contracts the pores in the skin, any absorption of epsom salts is minimal anyway.

Is there a risk of condensation or leaks?

Our tubs are fully welded and have 60mm of high performance insulation so leaks and condensation are extremely rare. Always ensure the chiller hoses are tightened to prevent leaks from there.
